A Journey Begins

I recently started working with a great group of lady's and we have become friends over the course of our training for our job. I recently also discovered I was in a position to have the Lap-Band surgery so since we were all going to be going home soon they asked me to start a blog about my journey so they could all still watch the process even though we would all be working from home .
What follows is a journal of my journey starting with day one! I will blog daily for the first year. First a little background on what brought me to this point.
I have barrled my weight in some form or fashion since childhood, I was always the biggest in my class or on my team which never worked out very well in the popularity department of public schools,my mom tried to help and we had some success but weight always prevailed in the end. In my teen years it was no better but I did manage to stay the same size through junior high so I did make friends and had a social life, high school was the same so I at least survived. My true weight issues arose after the birth of my children and quiting smoking after 30 years(yay me) my weight jumped higher than ever befor and did not seem to budge for anything. I was diagnosed with Type II diabetes and developed edema in my lower legs to the point that walking was becoming an issue . I had followed the surgical weight loss in the news and new that gastric bypass was not something I could do while I new I needed to lose weight I did not want to rearrange my insides to achieve that, God had arranged them that way for a purpose , I did however really become interested in the Lap-Band procedure no rearraging my insides more of a tool to help me achieve my goals ,checked into insurance and found I had no coverage so it sort of became a mute subject the surgery was not cheap and out of my reach at the time. I followed the studies through the yaers and watched as some of the studies were showing a big improvement in Type II diabetes even organ function going back to pre-diabetes functioning now I was really interested so it had been 4 years since I had gone to a seminar so I called and went and as they say the rest is history the price had come down ,syill no insurance coverage but was doable by the grace of god and my angel here on earth. So now this will be my story!

DAY 1 -Oh boy so excited I am on my way ! Woke up at about 11am drank my 1st protien shake it was vanilla and was not to bed I was a little surprised but relieved did not taste yucky! Went about my business then got ready for work packed some veggies and my 2nd shake (chochalate) to take with me and drink when I get there yay I am on my way! Get to work mix shake , YUCKY! BOO! chochalte not good but drank all of it anyway! 1/2 hour later wow peeing now every 20/30 minutes this is different lasted entire shift at work had to let supervisor know what was going on hope this ends soon, nope lasted all nite but on a positive note all the edema in my legs are gone wow after years of swelling it looks as though I have chicken feet now, afraid to stand will these little things hold me? Long peeing nite hope tomarrow is better!

DAY 2- Well peed all nite still have chicken feet drank my 1st shake berry not to bad way better than chochalte! Called the Lap -Band doctors's office to make sure peeing such large quantities is normal feeling a little hungry not to bad though hope it stays that way. Just 12 days after today to go so I just try to stay focused on the goal. Just to update I will drink 2 protien shakes a day and have a low fat meal (dinner) for 14 days prior to surgery so I hope I do not pee like this for 14 days may not need surgery if thats the case!lol
